Twenty four "living buddhas" of different churches of the Tibet Buddhism gathered together last Thursday (August 10) in the county of Gonghe, northwest China's Qinghai Province, discussing the prospect of the religion.

It is the first time that the 24 hierarchs gathered together at a forum and talked about how the religion should develop in harmony with China's Socialism.

Doje Rabdain, communist party secretary of Hainan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, the sponsor of the forum, said the forum is held to provide a chance for the "living buddhas" to publicly express their views on the coordination between the religion and social development.

The hierarchs discussed how the Tibetan Buddhism could serve for China's building of harmonious society and what the religion could do to promote the economic development and social progress.
