The 9th Guangdong Art Festival concluded yesterday evening (November 30th) in Guangzhou Friendship Theatre. It held both closing and award ceremonies.

The awards were divided into several categories, including script and performance. The 13th Row Merchants was the biggest winner of the awards by sweeping seven first prizes, followed by Chao dialect drama "Dongwu Princess" and the folk song drama "Soul of the Mountain" pocketing 6 awards respectively.

The 13-day festival toured around Guangdong and put on shows in five cities, including Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Foshan and Dongguan.

Many excellent dramas in the festival were debuts performed by new artists.

According to the organizing Committee, the festival had a high attendance, on average 80% of capacity and the audience totaled nearly 20,000.
