The museum of Xian Xinghai, one of the most famous composers of modern China, will open in June in his hometown of Fanyu in the city of Guangzhou, to mark the musician's 100th birthday.
Visitors to the museum can appreciate over 200 works by Xian in front of a large screen or select their favorites by touching certain screens. Some of the musical pieces are opening to the public for the first time.
Scores, diaries and photos of the composer will also be available in the museum.
Xian Xinghai is considered the heralds of modern Chinese music. The prolific musician composed over 200 songs, 2 operas and several symphonies in the 1930s and 40s, of which his Yellow River Cantata is one of the best-known.
