Mongolia has decided to protect its most valued cultural heritage, the horse-head fiddle and long song, through a 10-year project, local newspaper reported Sunday.
Ts. Jargalsaikhan, who is in charge of the program, said that Mongolia will spare no efforts to promote the art of the horse-head fiddle, the most important musical instrument, and long song, the traditional vocal performance in Mongolia.
Meanwhile, a special committee supervising the project has been formed.
The committee will train teachers in downtown Ulan Bator from April and each province of Mongolia will make a plan for teaching residents to popularize the traditional instrument and the vocal performance.
