Young pianist Hao Duanduan and the Shenzhen Symphony Orchestra will present a piano concerto on the night of Children's Day at Shenzhen Grand Theater.
Conducted by Lin Daye, prize winner of the 2006 China conducting competition, the program will include Tchaikovsky's "Piano Concerto No. 1 in B Flat Minor," the "Piano Concerto No. 1 in E Flat Major" by Liszt, and the "Piano Concerto in G Major" by Ravel.
The "Piano Concerto No. 1" by Tchaikovsky is his most played piano concerto, with charming Russian-flavored themes. Liszt's work puts a high demand on the skills of the pianist and is a classical piece of the Romantic period. Ravel's concerto represents the spirits of Mozart's music, shining with optimism and serenity.
Hao, born in Taiyuan, Shanxi Province, in 1990, began to play the piano at 4. He went to Paris to learn with Dominique Merlet at 15. He won the first prize at the Ninth Ettlingen International Competition for Young Pianists in Germany and has played at many music festivals in France.
