More than 100 pieces of antiques and ancient art works, including bronze ware, jade ware, porcelain, calligraphic works and paintings, donated by the late Chinese scholar and artist Shang Chengzuo, are on display at the museum until March 15.
Among them, one of the most precious exhibits is the fragments of a Buddhist scripture, “The Heart Sutra,” from the Tang Dynasty (618-907), discovered in the Mogao Grottoes in Dunhuang, Gansu Province.
The other is a bamboo painting by Chinese painter, calligrapher and poet Zheng Xie (1693-1765), commonly known as Zheng Banqiao, one of the Eight Eccentrics of Yangzhou from the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911).
The Selected Works of the Dian Shi Studio Pictorial exhibition, which is being held at Shenzhen Museum until March 15, aims to provide Shenzheners with an opportunity to learn about life in South China in the late Qing Dynasty (1644-1911).
These original pictures on display, selected from the collection of Shanghai History Museum, depict social life in Guangdong Province, Hong Kong and Macao in the late Qing Dynasty.
