The Chinese musical "Gold Sand" will be staged in Shenzhen on Jan. 26 and 27, as part of the ongoing show season.
The musical tells the story of love between a young archaeologist named Sand and a woman called Gold who incarnated from a bird 3,000 years ago. The musical with an investment of 16 million yuan (US$2 million) is set in Chengdu's Gold Sand Site, which was part of the Shu Kingdom 3,000 years ago.
Composed by Sanbao, the musical has been performed more than 500 times since its debut in 2005, winning great acclaim from audiences. Apart from the brilliant music, "Gold Sand" brings the ancient Shu culture to life.
