Xu Weiling, the famous violinist, will attend the performance of Guangzhou Symphony Orchestra 2006-2007 Music Season with her Stradivari violin valued for USD $3.5 million made in 1701.

Xu Weiling is one of the violinists with the most influence in the modern China.  While she studied at Beijing Central Conservatory of Music many years ago, she was concerned and highly commended by the great musicians of Stern, Menuhin and Seiji Qzawa etc., who were visiting China at the moment, and was elected to join the performance of the documentary film "From Mao Zedong to Mozart" supervised directly by Stern himself, which won the famous Oscar prize. 

In November 1999, two decades later, at the closing ceremony of the Second Session of Beijing Music Festival, Xu Weiling was invited to perform together with Stern.  This historic scene has stirred the music circles a lot.
