"Mini Size" originates from sutra. Buddhism generally refers detailed sutras as "Large Size", while the abridged sutras were called "Mini Size", which was later commonly used to refer to mini-sized literary and artistic works.
Mini size painting is a term used for relatively precise and large-scale thematic creations. It's a painter's improvisation, as he/she works at will without any constraints to fully express his/her feelings, and yet there is no lack of elaborate fine works either. The mini size paintings usually emphasize poetry effects and painting interests, therefore the inscription and sealing becomes an important component of the painting.
