A stranded white dolphin is taken back to the sea by boat. A 8,675-square-meter area off the Guandi Bay in Zhuhai City has been set aside for the construction of China's first white dolphin protection base.
Construction of the base will start within this year with the first phase featuring an emergency center for the "national marine treasure." The water in the Pearl River mouth is home to more than 1,000 out of the 2,000 white dolphins in China. Editor: Yan
