Zhuhai is the most environmentally-friendly city in Guangdong, according to an environmental GDP report. Zhuhai ranks top on the average Green GDP in Guangdong, with 30,443 yuan per capita in Green GDP.
Shenzhen and Guangzhou rank No. 2 and 3 respectively. The green GDP is the final GDP after environmental costs have been accounted for. Kuang Yaoqiu, the leading researcher of this report from the China Academy of Sciences said per capita Green GDP is closely related to sustainable economic development.
Zhuahai received the top ranking because of its great effort in protecting the ecological environment during economic development.
