A man who climbed to a 40- meter-high crane to drink alcohol caused a heavy traffic jam in downtown Zhongshan, a city in Guangdong Province, reports Guangzhou Daily. More than 20 firemen and three fire engines arrived to help rescue the man surnamed Chen when the incident took place at about 4 pm at a local construction site. The man was finally persuaded to come down to the ground at 7:10 pm by his wife. Chen, 40, was later brought to a local police station for questioning. Local police said Chen had not been paid by the boss at the construction site.
