Jieyang has passed a geographical eligibility inspection by China Guangdong Nuclear Power Holding. The inspection was meant to determine the suitability of the site for construction of a nuclear power plant.
The site was evaluated on its geological conditions including the probability of earthquakes. The Institute of Geology, China Earthquake Administration (IGCEA) has also inspected the site and agrees with the conclusion made by China Guangdong Nuclear Power Holding.
