Built in 1608, the Hakka Round Building "Huaer Lou" is an example of traditional Hakka architectures. The round earth building is a residence for a big family, usually accommodating tens of households who are with the same ancestor. They share the public space and facilities, yet every family still has its own private space. The Huaer Lou has 210 rooms and is with plenty of sunshine and good ventilation. The building is also equipped with fire and theft guarding system, as well as a lot of other facilities for everyday life.
