Yunfu, benefited from its geological location and rich natural resources, is a municipality on a promising land with great potentiality for exploitation and vast vistas for development.

Yunfu Municipality is located in the central-west of Guangdong Province, China, east to Pearl River Delta and west to southeast Guangxi province. It is an important bridge connecting China's west and south provinces with Pearl River Delta. Yunfu is 160 km from Guangzhou, with a direct expressway to Guangzhou to be finished by September of 2004. It covers a total area of 7,779 square kilometers and its population is 2.60 million. Its waterway system on Xijiang River is mature. In the municipality, there are two customs houses, says Yunfu Customs and Luoding Customs, and four ports, namely, Yunfu, Ducheng, Yun'an and Luoding, so products can be shipped to Hong Kong and Macao, then transshipped to other oceanic countries. Communication service is available with updated facilities like SPC telephone, cell phone, microwave and optical fiber transmission, facsimiles, and ADSL.

Since the reform and opening up to the outside world, Yunfu has taken the export-oriental road and chase to development, industrial mainstays have been established for chemicals, stone building materials, textiles and garment, stainless products, electric wire & cables, agricultural produces processing, etc. Yunfu has become the biggest stone products distributing center, the largest processing and export base of stainless steel utensil and an important garment-processing base in Southern China. The Municipality has been awarded many titles by Ministries of Center Government, such as "County of the Seedless Chinese wampee (Clauseua Lansium)" to Yu'nan, "County of Preserved Fruits Processing " to Xinxing, "County of Cassia Bark" to Luoding, and "The Stone Material Base of China" to Yunfu Municipality.
