The dragon dancing performance from Hetang, Xinhui District
The China (Jiangmen) Chinese Carnival, a happy get-together for overseas Chinese, is to kick off in Jiangmen City, one of the famous hometowns for overseas Chinese in South China's Guangdong Province tomorrow (Oct. 16th), source releases.
The carnival includes three parts: 1. The "Carnival Parade" (Oct. 17th), with 29 art groups from home and abroad making a performance tour around downtown Jiangmen;
2. The yearly "Overseas Chinese Forum" (Oct. 18th), in which famous overseas Chinese experts are invited to discuss on a certain topic concerning overseas Chinese; 3. The "Jiangmen Tourism Festival"(Sep. 26th to Oct. 20th), introducing attractions of the city to overseas Chinese around the world.
The event, co-organized by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of Guangdong Province, Guangdong Overseas Exchange Association and the Returned Overseas Chinese Federation of Guangdong Province, aims to make closer the relationship between overseas Chinese and the city, and to present the special culture, abundant tourism resources to the world, according to Wang Jiannan, mayor of Jiangmen.
