The southern part of Tiyu Xi Road which has been closed for 4-years due to underground construction will reopen to vehicles next month, Guangzhou Daily reports. The blocked Exit D of Tiyu Xi Road Metro Station will also reopen and disperse the stream of people from the commercial center.

Located at the hub of Tianhe District, various restaurants and shopping malls surround the construction site. After construction finishes, the transportation system of the Tianhe commercial zone will be greatly improved.

The 100-meter underground construction includes the metro, civil defense, electricity lines, dirty water pipelines, drinking water pipelines, gas pipelines and optical fiber cable lines. "Although the road is short, the construction is complex", a member of the construction team said.

Citizens have welcomed the news of the reopening as it will greatly improve day to day convenience.
