Two representatives from Guangzhou gave presents to the captain of the Swedish Gothburg replica yesterday (June18). The ceremony was held after the ship's arrival in Jakarta.

The presents include a replica of an antique nautical chart and a Kwon-Glazed Porcelain vase with images of the Gothburg ship and a South China Sea God ship.

The visit of Swedish Gothburg ship to Guangzhou is to mark the 55th anniversary between China and Sweden establishing a diplomatic relationship. The Gothburg ship is also a symbol that represents a flouring Sino-Sweden trade.

The two Guangzhou representatives are expected to be trained as sailors over the next few days before the ship sets off to its destination, Guangzhou's Huangpu port.
