The public security departments of Guangzhou municipality and districts will issue an entry-exit IC card by the end of this month.
With the card, Guangzhou citizens can get a visa for individual travel to Hong Kong and Macao without filling in forms or handing in photos in every handling center across different districts. But only those who have the valid Hong Kong-Macao pass of the 2000 version can apply for the IC card.
In addition, the police said that Guangzhou would issue the second-generation ID card next year, which might probably replace the entry-exit IC card.
