A 10-year-old primary school student almost died after drinking half a bottle of pesticide when he was unable to finish his homework in Foshan's Gaoming District, Guangdong Province, on Wednesday.
Feng was found lying on the ground with a half-empty bottle of pesticide next to him when his parents arrived home.
The grade five student was rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
He said he wanted to commit suicide because of the heavy pressure of homework he faced every day, and that he could hardly finish it all.
