China's biggest music summer camp, the second Chinese Guangdong International Music Summer Camp, was launched yesterday (July 11) in Foshan by the People's Government of Guangdong Province and Department of Culture of Guangdong Province.
Vice Governor of Guangdong Province Lei Yulan attended the opening ceremony. She said that last year the first section was a success and that the camp has facilitated the cultural exchange and cooperation between Guangdong and other countries in the world.
This year's event has attracted 20 international top artists and 180 students. The music director of the camp is the world famous conductor Charles Dutoit. During the 18-day camp period, the students will have the opportunity to stage 13 shows with international top artists.
