In the first fourth months in 2005, Foshan saw an increase in output of the city's 16 main industrial products. The production of air conditioners rocketed by 56.3%. And other products having experienced rapid growth are furniture, stainless steel products, rice cooker, microwave oven, sanitary ceramics, ceramics (building material) and soy sauce.
Private enterprises accounted for 52.23% of the total industrial output of the city and their growth speed is 3.5% higher than the city's average.
Besides, the city's pillar industries maintain their strong growth momentum. In the first quarter, the segments, including furniture manufacturing, oil processing, chemical material and products, transportation facility manufacturing and non-metal mine products, grew by over 40% in industrial output value. And the rising industry - auto part manufacturing witnesses an exciting growth of 51.1% and becomes a key drive in development of Foshan's equipment manufacturing segment.
