Covering a land of 967.4 sq km, Gaoming City is located west of Foshan City, with a population of 276 000. With the Xijiang River meandering through the urban area, Gaoming is well connected with other cities in the province.
Rice, sugarcane, silkworm cocoon, tobacco and tea are its major agricultural products. Gaoming City's industries include cement, textile, tobacco, printing and distillery.
