Guangzhou has banned motorcycle earlier this year, and Dongguan is following suit. From September 1, motorcycles can only be on the road from 8 pm to 4 am. "This arrangement is to provide convenience to vegetable wholesalers," Liu Zhigeng, Party Secretary of Dongguan, said, "motorcycle taxi will be totally banned."
This will be the first step of Dongguan in its motorcycle ban campaign. And the city is now preparing for the motorcycle discarding and compensation work.
The motorcycle ban campaign is expected to help the city to reduce its motorcycle-related crimes and accidents.
