"Culture Weekend", a youth chorus group from city of Dongguan, pocketed a gold medal in the youth chorus category at the 4th World Choir Games held in Xiamen yesterday (July 19th).
The 12-day event was jointly organized by the municipal government of Xiamen and the German-based non-governmental organization called the International Cultural Exchanges Fund.
This year's competition attracted over 400 chorus groups from 80 different countries and regions. The competition is a biennial event; formally called the Choir Olympics, and was first launched in 2000.
