Ma Xingrui, Governor of Guangdong Province, introduced that Guangdong will push forward new generation information infrastructure construction and digital economy growth.

"Guangdong will support good internet content creation and keep telling stories about China, about the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and about Guangdong," said Ma in his address.

Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor, chief executive of Hong Kong SAR, said that Hong Kong government will actively make good use of internet media to spread positive energy.

"The Hong Kong government is making efforts to improve the efficiency of government information publicity, including more extensive use of the internet, mobile platforms and social media, so that information can reach more residents faster," Lam told the forum via video link.

"Macao will continue to promote technological innovation and the development of related industries, strengthen the management of network communication order and maintain cyber security in order that network communication can develop within the framework of the rule of laws," Ho lat Seng, chief executive of Macao SAR, said in his speech.

Shen Haixiong, deputy head of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and president and editor-in-chief of China Media Group, pointed out, the exchanges of international public opinion become more prevalent in the all-media era, and the global all-media pattern is changing and evolving rapidly.

China should continue to advance the technology innovation, to reach a deep integration between technology and ideas, arts as well as the audience, he said.

Zhuang Rongwen, deputy head of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and minister of the Cyberspace Administration of China, urged China's media to seize the opportunity of the information revolution and apply new tech and new means to their works.

Fu Hua, editor-in-chief of Xinhua News Agency, suggested to make full use of the internet to make China’s voice heard by the world.

The media should insist on technology empowerment, stand at the forefront of media integration development, strive to maintain a forward-looking approach to the technological route of media integration and strengthen independent innovation of key core technologies, he said.

The Forum also saw an offline exhibition displaying new technologies, applications and business modes in the field of internet media, the first of its kind in China. The exhibitors included renowned Chinese media, well-known internet enterprises as well as county-level integrated media centers.

Special parallel forums, including a Greater Bay Area summit, were also held for media to exchange views on the development of the media industry in China and the world.
