"I am glad that so many people love our cattle." said Wu Xuanguang, an associate professor at the College of Veterinary Medicine of SCAU, saying herding cattle in campus has been a tradition at SCAU for many years, these cattle are for veterinary courses such as veterinary internal medicine, veterinary surgery and veterinary obstetrics.

Currently, there are 11 adult cattle with an average age of about 6-7 years old, staying in the campus longer than most of the students at SCAU. Every morning at eight o'clock, Lin, the cattle herder, will tend the cattle and start a "campus tour" lasting up to three hours.

According to Wu, Veterinary Medicine is one of the key disciplines of SCAU, and ranks 27th in the world in the Global Ranking of Academic Subject issued by Shanghai Ranking.

"Our college has established a Veterinary Medicine Experiment Teaching Center with complete teaching facilities and experimental instruments," he added. "We aim to effectively exercise and improve students' professional skills and cultivate more outstanding veterinary medical talents."

Note: If you visit the university and happen to encounter the cattle, do not touch the cattle at will. If you want to greet with them closer, please ask Uncle Lin for guidance.
