Golden ears of rice, standing Diaolou, a woman in white holding a lute and models in fine costumes walking in the fields ...... In such a harvest season of Chinese Si Miao rice, a fashion show, organized by the Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of Guangdong Province and the Jiangmen Municipal People’s Government, was held in Kaiping, Jiangmen.  

This fashion show was to combine modern aesthetics with the concept of traditional Chinese farming rice culture. It took the ridge of the rice field as the runway and the diaolou (multi-storeyed defensive village houses,) as the background. A total of more than 30 costumes were exhibited in this event. Different colors of the clothes represent different meanings. For example, brown represents the protection of cultivated land, gold represents the landscape of the fields, green is the best representative color of agriculture, and white represents the Si Miao rice.

"Chinese style" is a highlight of the entire fashion show. The show also invited young musicians to perform traditional Chinese musical instruments such as pipa, erhu and flute. The design of the clothing works was inspired by the concept of "Chinese rice bowls should be mainly filled with domestically grown grain", and the purpose is to make more people pay attention to Si Miao rice and food security.

The organizer of this event will also hold a series of photography, video, and design competitions with several universities to create cultural and creative products related to Si Miao rice, in order to show the charm of Si Miao rice with artistic works.
