Biden greenlights next $775-million arms package for Kyiv

U.S. President Joe Biden on Friday authorized $775 million of additional aid for Ukraine to meet its security and defense needs, according to the White House.

The U.S. Department of Defense later said in a statement that the funding for the Biden administration's 19th package of arms for Ukraine since August 2021 includes additional ammunition for High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS), artillery and mine-clearing systems.

In total, the United States has committed approximately $10.6 billion in security assistance to Ukraine since Biden became president, the department added.
