Malaysia Johor Bahru inherits Chaoshan coming-of-age ceremony on Qixi Festival

On August 10th, coinciding with the Qixi Festival, the "Chu Hua Yuan (literally meaning out of the garden)" ceremony, a traditional Chaoshan coming-of-age ritual, was held in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. Over 50 families took part in this unique celebration.

"He (Luo Mingde's son) is from Teochew, so he must be given this coming-of-age ceremony," said Malaysian Chinese Luo Mingde. "It's very special and unique to Teochew people, so we want to give him an unforgettable memory."
