On October 18, 2024, the Qingyuan Tourism Development Conference took place, bringing together government officials, tourism experts, scholars, investors, and key figures from the travel industry. Themed "Land of Nature, Life of Ease," the event served as a platform to promote Qingyuan's rich cultural and tourism resources, showcasing the city's ambitious plans to become a premier destination in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
Qingyuan, known for its scenic landscapes and vibrant ethnic culture, offers visitors a unique blend of adventure, relaxation, and cultural exploration. From thrilling rafting to soaking in natural hot springs, savoring authentic Cantonese delicacies, and immersing in the culture of the Yao ethnic minority, the city promises an experience unlike any other.
At the conference, 15 major cultural tourism projects were signed, bringing the total number of projects to 30 since August. With a planned investment of 15.7 billion yuan, these developments mark a significant step toward establishing Qingyuan as a top tourist destination. The city's tourism industry is rapidly evolving, with a focus on creating a new model valued at hundreds of billions of yuan.
The event also launched the "Qingyuan Tourism Ambassador" program, unveiled the Qingyuan Hot Spring Tourism Map, and introduced other key initiatives to promote local tourism. Additionally, there were site visits to major tourist attractions, such as Shelari-gu and Gulong Gorge.
Li Xiaoming, Vice President of PingChuan China, expressed confidence in Qingyuan's tourism future. "Qingyuan's tourism development has a bright future," she stated, citing the city's rich cultural and tourism resources and favorable business environment. PingChuan China plans to invest in the city, leveraging its capital strength, development philosophy, and operational experience to create diverse and high-quality cultural tourism projects.
Qingyuan Tourism Ambassador Peng Xinzhi welcomed visitors from around the world, emphasizing the city's unique attractions. "This is the hometown of rafting in China and the hometown of longevity," he said. Peng highlighted the city's exhilarating rafting experiences, from body rafting to kayaking, as well as the opportunity to experience the richness of Chinese culture through its culinary traditions. "We know how to make delicacies, and we eat our way to good health. Qingyuan is waiting for you!"
The event concluded with the launch of the 2024 Qingyuan Hot Springs Season. A dazzling fireworks display and a lively bonfire party lit up the night, creating a festive atmosphere. Attendees enjoyed the joyful celebration, with a palpable sense of excitement in the air.
Going forward, Qingyuan will continue to enhance its tourism offerings, upgrade its tourism infrastructure, and expand its brand influence to solidify its status as a top vacation destination in the region.
