On February 19, the GDToday Maoming Channel officially went live along with the inauguration of the Maoming International Communication Center.

Maoming, situated in the southwestern part of China's Guangdong Province, boasts a coastline stretching for 220 kilometers. It stands out as the largest lychee-producing area in the nation, earning it the prestigious title of "Hometown of Lychee." It also features ample production of longan, tilapia, and a diverse range of other agricultural products.
Furthermore, Maoming is home to a thriving green petrochemical industrial cluster valued at over RMB 100 billion, demonstrating robust economic vitality and growth. The city is deeply rooted in history and culture, particularly highlighted by the influential legacy of Madam Xian, a revered figure in Chinese history who dedicated her life to regional development and promoting unity.

GDToday is a media outlet under the Nanfang Media Group, aiming to become Guangdong's leading platform for international communication and the primary source for the world to learn about Guangdong. Zhuang Yuequn, Secretary of the CPC Maoming Municipal Committee and Director of the Standing Committee of the Maoming Municipal People's Congress, hopes that the GDToday Maoming Channel and the Maoming International Communication Center can be built into a thoughtful, innovative, and vibrant platform to tell Maoming's story well to the world.
Liu Qiyu, President of Nanfang Media Group, noted that Nanfang Media Group and Maoming will work together to explore Maoming's practice in promoting international communication.
Liu added that by utilizing GDToday's extensive international communication network, efforts will be made to transform the Maoming Channel into a pivotal platform for spreading Maoming's voices and presenting its new image globally. The goal is to forge Maoming's international city image and illuminate its allure to the international community.
The English promotional video "Vibrant Maoming" premiered at the event. Produced by the Nanfang Media Group's Maoming reporter station, the rich footage captures the unique natural scenery, profound historical culture, and vigorous urban vitality of Maoming, presenting a colorful picture of Maoming.
Next, the GDToday Maoming Channel will launch a new round of city image promotion around multiple fields such as overseas promotion of special local products, industrial development, and cultural tourism resources, showing a more open, dynamic, and charming Maoming to the world.
