GDToday's first district-level channel, Nanshan Channel, was launched and put into trial operation on June 18.
Nanfang Media Group is Guangdong's most influential public opinion platform. Its subsidiary GDToday has been hailed as Guangdong's leading platform for international communication and the primary source for the world to learn about Guangdong. Nanshan District, Shenzhen has the strongest economic strength among all districts in Guangdong. It has ranked first in China's top 100 innovation districts for seven consecutive years. It is also one of the urban areas with the highest degree of internationalization, the highest density of foreigners, and the most abundant university resources.
Nanshan Channel is GDToday's first district-level channel jointly launched by Nanfang Media Group and the Publicity Department of the CPC Nanshan District Committee, representing a meaningful exploration of establishing international communication platforms.
GDToday Nanshan Channel will be committed to telling the world the Nanshan stories of promoting high-quality development, improving people's lives, and achieving efficient governance. It will showcase the highlights of Nanshan in speeding up the building of a world-class innovative coastal urban area, demonstrating a trustworthy, lovable, and respectable image of Guangdong, the Greater Bay Area, and China.
Nanshan, with a global perspective, can help the world learn about China. On the shores of Shenzhen Bay and at the foot of Danan Mountain, Nanshan is where China's reform and opening up originated. It sent out the signal that empty talk harms the nation, practical action helps it thrive. Since the beginning of reform and opening up, Nanshan has served as an important window for the world to know about China.
Since the new era, Nanshan has witnessed rapid development and become the central urban area of Shenzhen metropolis. Its GDP has ranked first among Guangdong's districts (counties) for many years in a row. The famous Yuehai Subdistrict is home to a large number of well-known companies, such as Tencent and ZTE.
It is also one of the most internationalized urban areas in Guangdong province, with the highest density of foreigners - 23,000 foreign residents from 168 countries live here, creating an atmosphere of openness and inclusiveness throughout the city.
During the trial operation, GDToday Nanshan Channel will be committed to opening a window to understand Nanshan, Shenzhen, Guangdong, and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area from a unique perspective and with rich contents. When it is officially launched, more interesting, informative, and in-depth international communication planning will be released to show a diverse and vivid image of Nanshan.
At present, Nanfang Media Group is moving faster towards "Two Apps and One Cloud" and striving to upgrade Nanfang Plus and GDToday and build a tech platform "Nanfang Smart Media Cloud" for media integration across Guangdong province. Starting from GDToday, Nanfang Media Group will work to coordinate the province's resources to form a pattern of international communication and tell compelling stories of China, the Greater Bay Area, and Guangdong to the outside world.
