According to Guangdong Sub-Administration of General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China (GACC), Guangdong’s import and export volume reached about 120 million tons in September, a 6% increasing month on month. Furthermore, the number of international freight train trips grew 175 % year-on-year in September.
Wang Kan, Deputy Director General of the Guangdong Sub-Administration of GACC, introduced that Guangdong Customs has launched a series of measures to facilitate foreign trade and smooth supply chains. They turned out effective.
Guangdong Customs applied convenient measures including "direct loading upon arrival" for export and "ship-side direct delivery" for import to improve logistic efficiency. The two measures eliminate container stacking and multiple loading and unloading at the port area.
In terms of land transportation, Guangdong Customs supports Guangdong international freight trains to optimize the operation, supports the rapid export of general goods, e-commerce, market procurement, mail, and other goods through the freight train, and expands the import of wood pulp, panel, and paper from Europe through the freight trains. At present, there are 9 departure stations of international freight trains in Guangdong.
The number of international freight train trips Central Europe, Central Asia, and Southeast Asia reached 658 from January to September 2022, an increase of 123.8 percent compared with last year. Guangdong launched 99 international freight trains in September, with a year-on-year increase of 175 percent and month-on-month growth of 13.8 percent.
