11 shows to make you fall in love with Hong Kong

The ongoing Guangzhou Art Season presents a special series based on Hong Kong's local culture, songs and movies as well as its original stand-up comedies. Starting from June to October, 11 performances are about to be staged in both online and offline formats, marking the 25th anniversary of Hong Kong's returning to motherland.

First of all, a concert entitled A Musical Night of Hong Kong Cinema has selected and adapted 14 original sound tracks from 14 classic Hong Kong-made movies such as Rough, A Chinese Ghost Story and A Better Tomorrow. These pieces will be staged in the form of symphony concert, bringing audiences to review the classic stories of the movies.

On September 11 and 12, artist Yang Hao will present a stand-by comedy, integrating the elements of comedies, contemporary dances, films, karaoke and Kung Fu. In September, Cai Chongli, a famous pianist, conductor and the chairman of Hong Kong International Musician Association will perform the pieces created by German musician Robert Schumann and Polish composer Fryderyk Franciszek Chopin.

Moreover, various concerts and musical dramas will also be staged by artists from Hong Kong SAR through online platforms and screening at the Guangzhou Opera House.
