May 18 this year marks the 46th International Museum Day. In celebration of this day, Guangdong plans to launch a variety of activities in the city of Zhaoqing, the main venue of this year's celebration, with an opening ceremony being held on May 18.

Above all, ten items of digital artifacts from various museums across the province will be introduced at the opening ceremony, which will then be followed by a series of themed activities.

An exhibition featuring cultural and creative products
From May 18 to 22, a total of 383 pieces (sets) of creative cultural products created by various museums in Guangdong will be shown at the exhibition area in front of the cultural and creative store of Zhaoqing Municipal Museum. The items include stationery, apparel, accessories, toys, foods and pottery sculptures. In addition, three other exhibitions will also be on display, highlighting Zhaoqing's history, locally-produced Duan inkstones as well as the paintings and calligraphic works created by indigenous artists.

Identification of cultural relics for free
Authoritative experts from Guangdong Cultural Relics Authentication Center and Guangdong Museum will help to identify ceramics, paintings and calligraphic works, jade wares and coins for residents, sharing the experience of how to identify the authenticity of the cultural relics. With a limited quota of 50 people, you need to call 0758-2108360 in advance to make a reservation, providing your name, telephone number and the type of your identified item.
