CCPIT Guangdong: RCEP brings vital opportunity to develop cross-border e-commerce

“RCEP brings vital opportunity to develop cross-border e-commerce considering the tax reduction and convenient custom clearance.” said Yao Xinmin, Vice President of CCPIT Guangdong.

The China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Guangdong Committee (CCPIT Guangdong) held a seminar on July 27. Yao gave a speech on helping enterprises analyze the cross-border e-commerce business in different markets worldwide in terms of the latest growth figures and emerging markets while seeking solutions to break bottlenecks and improve marketing strategies.

Yao introduced that Guangdong issued supportive policies to foster cross-border e-commerce enterprises. All of the 21 cities of Guangdong have established pilot areas to develop cross-border e-commerce. More than 300 overseas warehouses have been built, covering an area of over 2 million square meters. The trade volume of cross-border e-commerce increased from 22.8 billion RMB in 2016 to 331 billion RMB in 2021, with an average annual growth rate of 92.1 percent.

Yao addressed that CCPIT Guangdong took a variety of measures to seize the RCEP opportunities and boost foreign trade volume. CCPIT also helps Guangdong products go global through economic and trade offices, Guangdong Chambers of Commerce, marketing centres, and warehouses overseas. It also actively organized training and seminar to promote trade regulations and RCEP as well.
