The Department of Science and Technology of Guangdong Province recently launched 12 supportive policies to boost the development of the sci-tech innovation industry, which include specific measures to support foreign-funded enterprises to set up high-tech R&D centers.
Having achieved provincial recognition, the foreign-invested R&D institutes will be granted subsidies in accordance with relative regulations.
Foreign-invested R&D institutes established by Fortune Global 500 companies or leading global companies with an independent legal person will be given major support based on specific projects.
The province also encourages municipal governments to provide living subsidies for research professionals of foreign-invested R&D institutes.
In addition, the province will improve epidemic control guides for international travelers and provide research professionals with convenience on border entry, quarantine hotel arrangement and work permit application.
As for high-tech industry and major projects, enterprises are encouraged to explore international markets and facilitate international trade through the China International Import Expo, China Import and Export Fair, China Hi-Tech Fair and other international fairs.
Moreover, the policies facilitate financing for sci-tech industry through venture capital fund and credit fund support. Scientific research for key technologies will be boosted to support the industry development.
