In the just-concluded 4th Cross-Straits Youth Creative Short Film Contest, the Guangdong team led by Yang Kaihang won the first place in the 24-hour Video-editing Challenge with the work "A City（一座城）".
Yang Kaihang explained why he chose "Cantonese and Cantonese cuisine" as the theme of the video, “As soon as I watched the video footage, I thought of Cantonese' love for food and decided to add narration to the video clip.”
This is the second time that his team participated in the film contest. In 2020, their sci-fi short film "Gravitation of Galaxy（千星引力）" won the award of Best Short Film (for Guangdong region) in the 3rd Cross-Straits Youth Creative Short Film Contest.
Yang said that his team saw a lot of wonderful videos made by players from Guangdong and Taiwan. These videos, with different styles and interesting ideas, inspired their video-editing. He added, “Both sides present diverse videos, and we think it’s a very good trend and conducive to helping creators grow, so as to make more interesting and thought-provoking video clips.”
