Due to the simultaneity of commuting and travel, Guangzhou Metro network is expected to see a peak of more than 10 million passenger trips on September 30. Line 1, 2, 3 (the north extension included), 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 14 will see an earlier evening peak commencing 14:00. In order to increase capacity, from 12:00 to 20:30, the fast trains of Line 14 will be replaced with regular trains.

On the National Day (October 1), Guangzhou Metro will see about 7.7 million passenger trips, and during the seven-day holiday (October 1 to 7) around 7 million per day on average. To benefit residents' traveling during the holiday, all Guangzhou Metro lines will operate for one more hour on September 30 and October 1.

On October 4, Line 2 (from Guangzhou South Railway Station to Jiahewanggang) will extend service time by one hour. During the extended service period, fast trains will stop at Luoxi, Changgang, Gongyuanqian, Guangzhou Railway Station and Jiahewanggang, and at these station passengers can only get off the train. From October 5 to 7, line 1, 2, 3 (the north extension included), 5 and 7 will operate for one more hour.

During the holiday, the metro capacity will be no less than that of regular weekends, and the whole metro network will have about 35 spare trains to improve passenger flow when needed.

Guangzhou Metro line 18 fast trains will stop at a new station from September 28

After the adjustment, Modiesha has been added into the original four stops of line 18 fast trains, namely Wanqingsha, Hengli, Panyu Square and Xiancun. It only takes 27 minutes to travel from Wanqingsha to Modiesha by fast trains, and 9 minutes from Panyu Square to Modiesha, which saves 10 minutes compared with before the adjustment.

Meanwhile, the interval between fast trains is also reduced to 25.5 minutes, with the transportation capacity of fast trains up by 37 percent, and the minimum interval between regular trains during peak hours will be reduced to 4 minutes and 15 seconds. It further improves the traffic efficiency of Nansha, Panyu Districts and Guangzhou's downtown area.
