Hourly Guangzhou-Shenzhen direct trains in 60 min scheduled with 11 new discounted ticket packages

Recently, the operation schedule for the Guangzhou-Shenzhen intercity trains has been further optimized and adjusted. More hourly direct intercity trains between Guangzhou and Shenzhen have been added, with travel times of 60 minutes. Starting from March 13, 11 new tiered ticket packages will be introduced, offering discounts of up to 38%.

There are 10 pairs of hourly direct trains running between Guangzhou East Station and Shenzhen, cutting the total commute time to just one hour, allowing passengers to catch trains as they arrive during peak periods. The first train departs as early as 7 A.M., catering to commuters and students.

Guangzhou Baiyun Station has added three more pairs of direct trains to Shenzhen, bringing the total number to 27.5 pairs. The average interval between departures from Guangzhou Baiyun to Shenzhen is 33 minutes, with overall transit efficiency improved by 13.2%.

Starting on March 13, in addition to the existing 60 trips/30 days periodic ticket, passengers will have 10 new tiered options to choose from: 10 trips/30 days, 15 trips/30 days, 20 trips/30 days, 25 trips/30 days, 30 trips/30 days, 35 trips/30 days, 40 trips/30 days, 45 trips/30 days, 50 trips/30 days, and 55 trips/30 days. Additionally, a 10 trips/90-day option will be added to the current 20 trips/90-day multi-trip ticket.

According to the China Railway Guangzhou Group, with the introduction of the new ticketing system, the 11 periodic ticket options will offer discounts ranging from 15% to 38%. For example, a passenger purchasing a 60-trip/30-day ticket for a second-class seat from Guangzhou East to Shenzhen can save 1,813 yuan per month compared to buying single tickets.

Aiming to further facilitate the travel of passengers in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and to promote the development of a more convenient “one-hour traffic circle” in the region, during the 2025 Spring Festival travel rush, Guangzhou Baiyun Station handled an average of 36,000 passengers per day. Following this adjustment, Baiyun Station will operate an average of 75 pairs of trains per day, with the number of passengers expected to increase further.

Additionally, 11 more trains will now stop at Xintang Station, and the 13 pairs of trains running between Guangzhou East Station and Hong Kong West Kowloon Station will continue operations.

Using the "12306 China Railway" platform, passengers can enter the station by personal identity documents or mobile QR codes after purchasing tickets, with tickets valid for one-time use on the day of travel, allowing them to catch trains as they arrive. Passengers can stay informed about the latest train schedules and ticketing information via the 12306 official website, the 12306 app, or station announcements.
