After integration, the Nanyue King Museum consists of the King's Palace exhibition area and the King's Tomb exhibition area, covering a total area of nearly 45,000 square meters. It features six thematic permanent basic displays and three temporary exhibition halls with 245 pieces/sets of national first-class cultural relics.

The Tomb of the Nanyue King in Western Han Dynasty is the largest and most unique stone-chamber tomb from the Han Dynasty (206 BC- AD 220), with Zhao Mo, the second king of the Nanyue Kingdom, as the owner. More than 1,000 pieces/sets of cultural relics unearthed from the tomb reflect the political, economic and cultural development of Nanyue Kingdom, and witnessed cultural exchanges between China and overseas more than 2,000 years ago. Its silver box, golden flower ornament, frankincense and ivory is also a testimony to the cultural exchanges between China and overseas at that time.

The Archaeological Site of the Nanyue Kingdom Palace was home to the political, economic and cultural center of the Lingnan region and the administration site of maritime trade in Guangzhou for more than 2,000 years. It is an important historical piece of evidence to the historical changes in the rise, development and prosperity of China's Maritime Silk Road.

Guangzhou is one of the first 24 state-listed famous historical and cultural cities in China, with a history of over 2,200 years. The Guangzhou-based Nanyue Kingdom was founded in 203BC, and its overseas contacts helped to lay the foundation for the formation and development of the Maritime Silk Road.

In late September, Guangzhou, as the lead city of the alliance to apply for world heritage for Maritime Silk Road, will work with a total of 27 domestic cities including Ningbo and Nanjing, to hold a joint exhibition featuring cultural relics of the Maritime Silk Road in the King’s Tomb exhibition area of Nanyue King Museum.
