Good news for gourmets! The 2021 Guangzhou International Food Festival will kick off at its main venue, Sihaicheng Commercial Plaza, in Panyu district on December 9. This ten-day event will present an international and fashionable foodie extravaganza to the public and promote Cantonese food culture.

During the opening ceremony, 30 booths will be set up on-site for high-quality and international food tasting. The festival will invite restaurants with exoticism and famous Cantonese restaurants to "compete” with each other, display the entries of the winners of the Cantonese Cuisine Master Skills Competition as well as exhibiting and selling classic souvenirs and creative food with Guangzhou characteristics, showcasing the new image of Guangzhou delicacy.

This year, the festival will integrate food, Cantonese culture and Guangdong music to present a creative feast. Fang Jinlong, a Chinese music master, will perform 10 classic Cantonese music masterpieces, such as "Dragon Boats Racing for the Champion", "Rain Pattering at Plantain Leaves", and "Colorful Clouds Chasing the Moon", at the opening ceremony. Meanwhile, Cantonese cuisine masters, Western chefs, and Southeast Asian chefs will release new dishes with the same name for each song.

In addition, people can also enjoy “food festival + car” activities, “food + jewelry” shopping activities, and "food + local culture" story speech contests. Special food exhibitions and promotion activities at each venue will be broadcast live by some media outlets, Douyin influencers, and Internet celebrities.

The festival will use the WeChat mini program "粤食越味 (pinyin: yue shi yue wei)" to create a platform that integrates the functions of exhibition, activity, content, live broadcast and marketing.

● Entry to the festival is free.

● Real-name registration is required and seats are limited. Visitors need to make an appointment on the WeChat mini program "粤食越味 (pinyin: yue shi yue wei)", submit a 48-hour nucleic acid test certificate and full vaccination certificate.

● Visitors with successful reservations will be admitted with their ID cards, and the number of participants will be limited to about 1200.
