The National Museum of China is showcasing a stunning set of woodcarving crafts, offering visitors a glimpse into the history and culture in the Chaoshan area of south China's Guangdong Province. Chaozhou wood carving was added to the national intangible cultural heritage list in 2006. The exhibition, showcasing more than 160 items, includes fine wood carvings dating back to as early as the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), as well as masterpieces of contemporary wood-carvers in Chaoshan.
