An Airbus A380 superjumbo, the largest passenger airliner in the world, will land at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport on November 22 for demonstration and test purposes. The airport has geared up for the arrival of the jumbo jet.
Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport, China's first airport designed as a hub airport, already contains a tailor-made aircraft stand for the Airbus A380. It's China's first airport to provide a dedicated boarding bridge for the Airbus A380.
The Airbus A380 will stay in Guangzhou for about 15 hours, during which a one-hour certification and demonstration flight will be conducted. During the flight, no passengers, except crew members, will be allowed onboard.
Guangzhou, Beijing and Shanghai are the destinations on the third leg of the A380's round-the-world test flight. The A380 has three more legs to complete. The superjumbo stopped at Singapore and Seoul on November 14 and 15, respectively, on its first leg, and Hong Kong and Narita on November 18 and 19, respectively, on its second leg.
