The Tianti Mountain Grotto, located in in Zhonglu Town of Wuwei City, Gansu Province, also named Big Buddha Temple, is situated to the north of the Tianti Mountain, 50 kilometers south of Wuwei City, northwest China's Gansu Province. A 28-meter-high sitting statue of Sakyamuni is in the grotto, besides which stand his disciples and bodhisattvas. With a history of 1,500 years and representing the traditional Chinese grotto art, it is regarded as the "forefather of grotto" by researchers. Pictures were taken Sept. 11, 2006.
