A nation-wide survey for China 50 best tourist attractions for foreigners began yesterday (Dec. 28th). Nominations for the tourist attractions are extensive and include attractions such as towns, villages, mountains, valleys, caves, waterfalls and rivers. The nominations must possess unique characteristics and have the potential to increase tourism. The first stage of the selection will consist of a list of the top 5 tourist attractions submitted by each province throughout the nation, the second stage involves a global vote to choose the top 50 tourist attractions from the candidates by March, 2006. The selection will run through April, 2006 and the final results will be unveiled in Beijing.
