Happy Valley
Rocking into the new year, Shenzhen Happy Valley Music Festival pop stars will be going full blast New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.
For a sweet new year, Xiao Gang, "godfather of love songs," will perform New Year's Eve, and Power Station, the Taiwan-based music band, promises a sleepless night.

Window of the World
Window of the World will stage a New Year gala at its Global Theater, with fireworks lighting up the sky for the countdown to 2006. The gala will showcase five episodes from famous love stories.
Part of the glow, Window of the World Eiffel Tower has been decorated with shining lights for the season.
For those who want a winter wonderland, Window of the World has brought in a dozen of snow-making machines. Visitors can do outdoor disco in a snow setting or go skiing.
Nearly 100 couples from all over China will tie the knot in a mass wedding at China Folk Culture Villages on Dec. 31 and Jan. 1. Visitors are welcome at the traditional Chinese wedding ceremony. The event will include a gala procession and a dragon boat race dedicated to the newlyweds. Since 1999, the China Folk Culture Villages has been attracting young couples from all over the country, and even some foreign couples for the wedding ceremony.

Waterland Resort
From Dec. 30 to Jan. 1, Waterland Resort will usher in the New Year with bonfire parties. Visitors can join the park's performing troupe dancing around the bonfires. The adventurous can stay overnight to welcome the first sunlight of the new year at the resort's unusual accommodations, such as rooms on boats or in trees (prices from 540 to 600 yuan). These accommodations are very popular, so book early.
