Guangzhou will add about 100 star hotels in the coming five years, reports Guangzhou Daily yesterday (August 25th). These hotels will be scattered in regions closed to exhibition center, Baiyun Airport, Nansha, university town, Zhujiang Xincheng, Huanshi Road and the old Canton Fair complex. Guangzhou is expected to have 300 star hotels at the end of this decade.
Currently, Guangzhou has 204 star hotels, including 5 five-stars, 24 four-stars and 89 three-stars. The city, with 1000 hotels and inns, offer 100,000 rooms and about 200,000 beds.
Officials of the tourism bureau of the city said, Guangzhou tends to attract more international hotel groups to invest in the city and to accelerate the reform and renovation of state-owned hotels.
