Since this past April, the WayFinding System of Guangzhou subway has been been continually upgraded. In the new system, every subway line is marked with a distinct color: Line 1 is yellow, Line 2 blue, Line 3 orange and Line 4 green. Therefore, it helps passengers to recognize the route they want to take.

Uniform transfer point marks or symbols will be applied and indicated in different colors. Besides, key information about station names, direction of the line in question and courses will be displayed on the cover plates above new platform access doors.

The passenger information system is scheduled for completion shortly with eight large display panels divided into four groups located on the boarding platforms, passengers can not only see key information about schedule and direction of the train but also enjoy TV programs. So far, station announcements, signaled with flashing lights, have been available for all newly-added trains on Line One. Through the announcements, passengers can easily learn information about the direction and stations they seek.

Speciallly designed illuminated signs and information bulletins in station halls help passengers easily find entrances and exits. For those unfamiliar with the surroundings of the station, these maps can help them recognize locations and find their destinations. In addition, passengers can also get access to information about bus lines.

The whole WayFinding System of Line One is scheduled for completion by the end of July.
